Football. Coach Wulff Helps Ring in Salmon Season

Alaska Air Cargo recently rang in the beginning of the summer salmon season by delivering the first shipment of Copper River salmon to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and WSU Football Head Coach Paul Wulff was on hand to help celebrate.

Led by a fourth-place finish by the second varsity eight, 11th-ranked Washington State University women's rowing placed sixth at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships Sunday at Lake Natoma near Sacramento, Calif.

Cougs Helping Haiti, From Near and Far

The Jan. 12 Haiti earthquake sparked relief efforts throughout the University immediately after the earthquake that remains ongoing. The WSU Athletic Department has joined the cause, examples ranging from Dr. Ed Tingstad's efforts to a campaign spearheaded by WSU student-athletes.

WSU Athletic Foundation Events Tour Begins May 13 at King County

Cougar fans will have the opportunity to meet new Athletics Director Bill Moos, Football Coach Paul Wulff, Men's Basketball Head Coach Ken Bone, Women's Basketball Head Coach June Daugherty, and more Washington State University coaches and staff members at the 2010 WSU Athletic Foundation Events tour, beginning next week with stops at King County, Yakima, and the Tri-Cities.

Track. Cougars Handily Defeat Huskies in Dual Track & Field Meet

Torrential rains, hail and lightening delayed but did not deter the Washington State track and field teams as they swept the dual meet with Washington Saturday at Mooberry Track in Pullman. The Cougar men reached 18 lifetime-best marks and defeated the Huskies 108 to 55 in the 99th meeting of the two teams, while the WSU women, with eight lifetime-best marks, won 114 to 49 in the 35th meeting with the UW.

The No. 10 Washington State University rowing team will hold its lone home regatta of the season as it hosts No. 20 Oregon State, Saturday, May 1 at 2 p.m. at Wawawai Landing.

W. Golf. WSU Women Finish Eighth in the Pac-10

The Washington State women's golf team finished eighth at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships, moving ahead of Northwest rival Oregon State in the final round after posting a 318 (+30) at the par-72, 6,203-yard Eugene Country Club. Entering round three WSU trailed eighth by a stroke, but the team finished two strokes clear of the Beavers.
