A new chapter in Washington women's basketball featured a lot of excitement, but not the result the Huskies were looking for. A late UC-Davis layup dealt UW a 69-68 defeat at Alaska Airlines Arena on Friday afternoon.

Kevin McGuff made it a priority to recruit the state's best talent to Washington. With the signing of Katie Collier, Airashay Rogers and Heather Corral, McGuff has a tremendous amount of star power in his first UW recruiting class.

An overhauled Husky women's basketball team will finally take the court this Tuesday when they welcome NAIA D-II foe Concordia to Alaska Airlines. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

Husky fans will be able to Kevin McGuff and the Washington women's basketball team live on UWTV this season. The university television station will broadcast eight home games in 2011-12, beginning Dec. 20 against Southern.
