Parke Deserves A Shot

Jeff Parke had a fantastic season in 2011, starting 28 MLS matches while being names Sounders FC Defender of the Year.

And according to MLSsoccer.com's Greg Seltzer, he deserves a spot at the US National Team camp in January.  He is among five (actually six) that Seltzer says should be considered for additional spots with an otherwise well-assembled team, along with Chris Rolfe (Aalborg BK in Denmark), Chad Marshall (Columbus Crew), Todd Dunivant (LA Galaxy), Nick LaBrocca (Chivas USA) and Dax McCarty (New York Red Bulls).

Of Parke, Seltzer argues, "So Klinsi is desperate for a central defender that can hold fort and move the ball along efficiently. Yes, we've finally got Geoff Cameron into camp, but there's room for more in January. It says here Parke is long overdue for a look."
