After ten seasons in Major League Soccer, former Sounder Pat Noonan has decided to hang up his cleats and on Friday it was announced that he would join the LA Galaxy coaching staff as an assistant coach under head coach Bruce Arena.

The two-time MSL Cup champion had 42 goals and 33 assists in 183 career MLS matches and played two seasons with the Sounders FC.

In 21 appearances for Seattle in 2010 and 2011, Noonan netted one goal and one assist, adding two assists in eight appearances in the US Open Cup and CONCACAF Champions League as well.  He won two US Open Cup titles with the Sounders, adding to the one he won in 2007 with the New England Revolution.

With the Galaxy, he won his second MLS Cup title in 2012, having previously won under Sigi Schmid with the Columbus Crew in 2008.

He joins a staff that includes two former MLS head coaches in associate head coach Dave Sarachan and assistant coach Curt Onalfo.
