Johansson and Tiffert make Team of the Week
Last week, Sounders FC defender Jeff Parke became Seattle’s first defender and ninth different player to make MLSsoccer.com’s Team of the Week. This week, Adam Johansson added his name to the list after a dominating performance in a 3-0 win over the Portland Timbers on Sunday. Midfielder Christian Tiffert was also on Team of the Week, his second appearance of the season.
Johansson and Tiffert were joined this week by goalkeeper Kevin Hartman (FC Dallas); defenders Arne Friedrich (Chicago Fire) and Nat Borchers (Real Salt Lake); midfielders Eddie Gaven (Columbus Crew), Barry Robson (Vancouver Whitecaps) and Marvin Chavez (San Jose Earthquakes); and forwards Sherjill McDonald (Chicago Fire), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes) and Fabian Espindola (Real Salt Lake).
Brad Evans and Fredy Montero were also listed as honorable mention for the week. Evans assisted on a goal by Eddie Johnson and sent in the long throw that led to Montero’s goal.
