On Monday, Osvaldo Alonso was named MLS Best XI and on Tuesday the accolades continued to flow as the Sounders FC midfielder was named the top holding midfielder in Soccer America’s yearly positional ratings.

Alonso finished on top a list that included Kyle Beckerman of Real Salt Lake and Colorado’s Jeff Larentowicz, both of whom appeared for the US National Team this year.

Last year, Beckerman edged Alonso and in 2010, he was rated fifth by Soccer America’s Ridge Mahoney.
