Wilson nominated, twice
How impressive was Russell Wilson’s performance in Sunday’s overtime victory against the Bears in Chicago? The Seahawks’ rookie quarterback has been nominated for not one, but two weekly awards.
Wilson is up for FedEx Air Player of the Week, as well as Pepsi Max NFL Rookie of the Week. That will happen when you lead a 12-play, 97-yard drive to a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter and then a game-winning 12-play, 80-yard drive in overtime of a 23-17 upset.
Why is Wilson up for both honors? He completed 23 of 37 passes for a season-high 293 yards and the touchdowns that capped both pivotal drives. He also ran for 71 yards. You can revisit Wilson’s exploits here, just in case you’re not already convinced.
